Private Assets, a Hamburg-based private equity firm specializing in distressed mid-cap companies, partnered with us and Less to transform their post-acquisition portfolio reporting. The solution enabled Private Assets to seamlessly integrate the ERP systems of newly acquired portfolio companies and analyze the data using Power BI reports, providing comprehensive oversight of financial and operational performance across all assets in real-time.

Saved through automation and streamlined reporting
In manufacturing output at key portfolio companies
Private Assets faced significant challenges in scaling their post-acquisition reporting processes. The portfolio companies (PortCo’s) relied on disjointed, inaccessible systems, forcing the team to consolidate data manually in Excel. With limited technical resources and increasing complexity, the need for an automated and integrated solution became critical.
Pyne, alongside Less, was tasked with addressing two major pain points:
Quickly and efficiently integrate the ERP systems of newly acquired portfolio companies, ensuring that financial and operational data could be centralized.
Build a robust reporting solution in Power BI that provides real-time insights into the financial health and operational performance of the entire portfolio.
Using Less’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface, we connected over 50 different data sources across seven portfolio companies. This seamless integration allowed for real-time data consolidation, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reconciliation.
We developed a customized Power BI dashboard that provided Private Assets with a comprehensive view of their portfolio companies’ financial and operational metrics. The automated reports could be refreshed regularly, giving management timely insights into key performance indicators.
To ensure a successful adoption of the new solution, we worked closely with Private Assets’ internal analyst team, training them on how to manage the new platform. We also provided ongoing support to ensure that the solution could scale as Private Assets continued to grow its portfolio.
Through our collaboration, Private Assets achieved significant efficiency gains. The integration of the portfolio companies’ ERP systems enabled automated reporting, saving over 300 manual work hours each month. Furthermore, the solution led to a 2.3% increase in manufacturing output at one of the key portfolio companies, demonstrating the power of data-driven decision-making.
By implementing the new reporting platform, Private Assets is now able to provide their investors and leadership with a clear, real-time view of their portfolio’s performance, ensuring better financial oversight and operational efficiency.
